My pictures are only exposed on one half of the print. What happened?

This can occur when a flash is used to take a picture and the shutter speed was out of synchronization with the flash unit. (This may occur on either side of the print or at the top or bottom based on the camera's shutter mechanism.)

The shutter speed needs to be set according to the camera manufacturer's specifications (see your camera owner's manual) or the flash may fire during the period when only a portion of the shutter is open thereby exposing just a part of the scene yielding merely a portion of the original scene in the print. It is also possible your flash fired late due to dirty contacts. Clean the contacts.
